The 2nd European Network and Information Society conference will be held on 16-17 November 2006 in Vilnius, the Republic Lithuania. It is organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, European Network and Information Security Agency and Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania.

On October, 27 the Coordinating Council on Informatization of CIS member states of Regional Community in the Sphere of Communications made a decision on the necessity to use the experience of all its members to implement programs aimed to create national systems of Passport and Visa Documents with biometric data.

Interstate exhibition “CIS 15 years: Collaboration and Integration” has been opened. Representatives of all the states that presented their expositions on anniversary exhibition participated in the opening ceremony in All-Russian exhibition centre. The Chairman of Executive Committee – CIS executive secretary Vladimir Rushailo concluded the opening ceremony.

During October15-19, 2006, Meeting of Black Sea Economic Cooperation Working Group regarding information and communication technologies(October16-17, 2006) and the Meeting of the Ministers responsible for information technologies and telecommunications in the Member States of Black Sea Economic Cooperation(October17, 2006), took place in Moscow, Russian Federation.

The Vth International Meeting “Statistical indicators of information communication technologies development” organized under the aegis of International Telecommunication Union took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 11- 13, 2006.

Ministry of Information Development of the Republic of Moldova would participate in the exhibition dedicated to the Commonwealth of Independent States Anniversary “COLLABORATION AND INTEGRATION”.

Information development of Moldova attracted attention of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova Mr. Michael D. Kirby who paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Information Development.

Within the frames of Moldovan-German consultations in the sphere of internal affairs, German delegation headed by the Director of the Department of European Harmonization, Migration, Integration and Refugee Policy of the Ministry of the Interior, Germany, Dr. Gerold LEHNGUTH visited Ministry of Information Development.

Visiting the President of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin, the representatives of Resource Centre for Young People “DACIA” by the advice of the president also visited Ministry of Information Development.

On October 12-14 the Second Congress of Moldovan natives, living abroad took place in order to consolidate Moldovan Diaspora, broaden collaboration with the compatriots living abroad, preserve and promote Moldovan language and literature in the countries of Moldovan natives residents, promote the image of our country on international arena and other not less exalted aims.
